Work Zone Traffic Impact Analysis using Work Zone Q- Pro
Work Zone Q-Pro is a set of linked spreadsheets that computes the performance measures for work zones located on freeways, midblock arterials, and on two-lane highways when it is operated as one way. The objective of this workshop is to present how the latest version of Work Zone Q-Pro (version 1.52) can be used to compute work zone performance measures (capacity, speed, queue length, delay, and users’ costs). Example problems will be provided for each of the three facilities. Dynamic queue where congestion grows and shrinks, speed of moving queue, and the extent of congestion in time and space will be computed. This is not a hands-on training workshop so you don’t need to bring a laptop. Participants will receive a booklet and flash drive.

Synchro Software Overview
Synchro is an easy-to-use macroscopic traffic signal timing application that helps traffic engineers and transportation planners design, model, and optimize signalized and unsignalized intersections. It can be used for a variety of project types such as Signal Coordination and Timing (SCAT) projects, comparing different design alternatives, and roundabout analyses. Synchro analyses can then be turned into micro-simulations and animations using SimTraffic software. SimTraffic models signalized and unsignalized intersections, as well as freeway sections with cars, trucks, pedestrians, and buses.
Please bring a laptop for the workshop.
